GeoRisk-AID is a research and innovation project funded within the framework of the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The project aims to develop next-generation digital twins for the real-time monitoring and forecasting of geotechnical instability phenomena, integrating advanced numerical modeling with artificial intelligence.
The main objective is to improve the accuracy, automation and responsiveness of risk assessment systems for natural hazards such as landslides and rockfalls. GeoRisk-AID introduces automated workflows for updating numerical models based on sensor data, and explores the use of physics-informed neural networks for predictive analysis, enabling the implementation of effective preventive risk mitigation strategies.
